Terms of Service

Plain language, no boilerplate theater. "PDFops" or "the service" means the API and website at pdfops.dev; "you" means anyone using them. Last updated 2026-07-21.

The service, as-is

PDFops is an early-stage service. It is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. There is no uptime SLA yet — we monitor the service and care about it staying up, but we don't yet promise a number, and you shouldn't build life-safety or similarly critical flows on it. Features may change or be withdrawn as the service evolves.

Quotas and tiers

Usage is limited per tier as published on the pricing page: anonymous calls are limited per IP per month, keyed free calls are hard-capped per month, and paid tiers include a monthly quota. Every quota is a hard cap: requests over it receive HTTP 429 until the monthly reset. Metered overage is not yet offered — for a mid-month raise, contact hello@pdfops.dev. Only successful (2xx) requests count against quota.

Acceptable use

API keys

Keys are issued per email address and delivered by email. Keep your key secret; anything done with it counts as you. Keys may be revoked for abuse of these terms or of the platform. Requesting a new key rotates and revokes the previous one.

Pricing

Current prices are on the pricing page. Pricing may change with notice: we'll announce changes ahead of time via the email on your account, and changes never apply retroactively to a billing period already paid.

Paid subscriptions

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your account drops to the Free tier (your key keeps working at the Free quota). We don't offer partial-month refunds by default, but we do correct billing mistakes — if a charge looks wrong, write hello@pdfops.dev and we'll sort it out.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFops is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim (which, on a free tier, may be zero).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the "last updated" date above changes when we do. Material changes are announced to keyed users by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
